  The Southern Maryland Fair Skies Coalition was founded to seek solutions to decrease aircraft noise and air pollution south of DCA. The most severely impacted neighborhoods are Accokeek (CDP), Bryans Road (CDP), Bennsville (CDP), and Fort Washington (CDP), Maryland. Most of us can hear noise from low-flying aircraft. We may think the noise is only a nuisance. “Noise is defined as “unwanted sound.” Aircraft noise is one, if not the most detrimental environmental effect of aviation.
