This site is only interested in the south landing for DCA. They have little interest in the north landing. If you read the information on the home page on this site, you will understand NextGen.

Rep. Jamie Raskin yesterday joined 28 other Members of Congress in requesting that the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) investigate "how the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has considered community noise impacts while implementing the Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen) in major metropolitan areas," including the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

NoiseQuest is your source for information on aviation and airport noise. Our goal is to improve the relationship between airports and their surrounding communities. Where Does the information on NoiseQuest come from? Government documents News articles Research journals Aviation practices Mission statement This website was developed to provide educational information on aviation noise. The initial site development was supported by the Federal Aviation Administration through the PARTNER Center of Excellence under grants to researchers at The Pennsylvania State University and Purdue University. FAA Website What is NextGen?

What is NextGen? NextGen is the FAA-led modernization of our nation’s air transportation system. Its goal is to increase the safety, efficiency, capacity, predictability, and resiliency of American aviation. This overhaul brings together innovative technologies, capabilities, and procedures that improve how we fly from departure to arrival. Airlines,  general aviation  operators, pilots, and  air traffic controllers gain better information and tools that help passengers and cargo arrive at their destinations more quickly, while aircraft consume less fuel and produce fewer  emissions . This transformation is being achieved through an ongoing rollout of improvements which began in 2007. NextGen remains on target to have all major components in place by 2025. The modernization of the National Airspace System is one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in U.S. history. https://www.faa.gov/nextgen/what_is_nextgen/ ---------------------------...

I wonder if this legislation will help us to get some needed airport noise relief from DCA?

We need to get the  attention of politicians and the FAA to reduce noise in Accokeek from Reagan National airport I wonder if this legislation will help us to get some needed airport noise relief from DCA? Press release by both U.S. Senators Chris Van Hollen and Ben Cardin (Both D-Md.) https://www.vanhollen.senate.gov/news/press-releases/van-hollen-cardin-say-faa-reauthorization-will-boost-maryland-airports-and-protect-passengers All of the politician seems to be concerned about the noise from DCA in Montgomery county and not very much concerned about the noise in Prince George’s County. The people in Montgomery County are highly organized and make the politician aware of their plight.   Check out this Web site for Montgomery County   https://sites.google.com/site/208xxquietskies/home Prince George’s County need to make the FAA and politicians to pay attention to our plight.

If you love your children, love your spouse and love your self you should read this article. Out of self-interest, you should get involved in organized opposition to the FAA implementation of the D.C. metroplex Regan North landing . The noise from overhead aircraft is constant on most days from approximately 6 am until midnight. The FAA direct over Accokeek approximately 70,000 aircraft a year using the north flow arrivals, approximately 200 airplanes a day. Most aircraft fly at an altitude of fewer than 2,500 feet. Research indicates this emission from aircraft jet engines travels as far as 10 miles in every direction. “The Laboratory for Aviation and the Environment is a research lab in the MIT Department of Aeronautics & Astronautics.” “Air pollution is responsible for millions of early deaths each year, and every human activity – from manufacturing to agriculture, to aviation – plays its part in this problem. As aviation grows as an industry, so too will the effec...
